Does anybody know if you have a mobile broadband dongle that is not SIM locked if you need anything like software when you insert a different SIM? Or is it a matter of just setting up the connection in the network Preferences?

Hi,

I'm having a problem where literally nothing happens when I plug the o2 modem into a macbook. I've tried 2 modems in 2 macbooks and 2 PC's - both worked fine on the PC, nothing happens when plugged into either macbook. Not so much as a cd image appearing.

Anyone got any clues?

Hi,

I just got one of these this week and didn't need all these steps. The package contents didn't include Mobile_Connect_Drv_App.pkg so I just doubled clicked on the software icon thats on the stick (now called Mobile Partner) and it installed fine. At the end of the install, the network preferences settings came up automatically and then I needed all your info from then on.

I'm running 10.6.2 and the version of the Mobile Partner software is 15.001.06.00.03. The software itself is not much use, I just need to click on the modem icon in the menu bar to connect and disconnect.

Thanks for the useful article though, made the process nice and simple.
