AFC Wimbledon in the Daily Mail

daily Mail - The Unlikely Lads. Back in November 2004 Ivan Speck of the Daily Mail wrote a fantastically positive article about AFC Wimbledon, much to the surprise of much of our fanbase.

It makes a great read for both fans and casual observers alike; for those to those that might not have seen it first time round I've scanned and converted the article into a PDF file.

The Unlikely Lads - How fan power brought glory to the name that wouldn't die (634kb).

Also of note, is the fantastically cheeky postscript:

While AFC Wimbledon can to take 1,500 fans with them to away games in the Ryman League Division One, Milton Keynes Dons were rather less well supported at their LDV Vans Trophy match against Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Tuesday, as our picture of the stand housing visiting fans clearly shows.

Update: The PDF link is now a much more manageable 634k, rather than the huge 5Mb version from before. You can still grab that if you really want though.

Early Day Motion 1491

Simultaneously showing the brilliance and occasional pointlessness of the British Parliamentary system, the MP for Wimbledon Roger Casale tabled an Early Day Motion regarding the successes of AFC Wimbledon.

AFC Wimbledon and the digital hub

With the recent relaunch (at least at the back-end) of AFC Wimbledon's official site, I've done my little bit for the team by putting together some other ways of getting at the site content.

"AFC all the way"

Chris Kamara of all people wrote up a hugely positive article in The Sun on AFC Wimbledon yesterday.
